Coastal Condo in Mission Beach

This Mission Beach condominium spans the whole top floor of a building of apartments.  The Pacific Ocean is just a block away.

Although it is in a bustling beach community, its upper floor location and expansive outdoor spaces make it feel private.  Each of its three bedrooms and the living area have balconies and decks which afford it cool ocean breezes. New patio furniture and accessories in a vibrant green color give the main deck a resort feel.

When the owners purchased the condo, it needed cosmetic updating. They use it as a residence in winter and as a rental in the busy summer season. With that in mind, the makeover had to be both hardwearing and universally appealing.

The old carpet was replaced with tile that mimics espresso hardwood.  It will easily stand up to sand and water.  The fireplace was tiled from floor to ceiling in beautiful split-face quartz and the walls were painted in a complimentary color.

The main living and dining areas are decorated in calm neutral tones. Dark woods and brown leather are balanced with glass and mirrored pieces to lighten up the space and maintain the fresh sophisticated feel.  All of the color in the space is found in the artwork and accessories such as pillows and dishware. That way a new color scheme can easily be introduced if the homeowners decide they would like a change.

Each of the three bedrooms has its own personality. The Asian inspired huge master suite is a balance of dark woods, off-whites, and greys with a punch of red.The second bedroom is inspired by the nearby beach…..sandy neutrals, crisp white, and ocean blues. The tropical third bedroom mixes rattans with fresh greens and a shot of mango.

The home is all about comfort and relaxation, with a touch of luxury. It has a classic, but contemporary vibe.
